We are supporting scientific research in Germany, China, India, and the United States to the tune of 50 million euros.
The Bosch commitment in Germany is geared towards the future. We are supporting three top universities – RWTH Aachen, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and the University of Stuttgart – with a focus on innovative areas of technology that offer significant potential for the future. Renewable energies and electromobility are at the very top of the agenda. Over a period of around ten years, we intend to invest a total of 15 million euros in innovative university chairs and research.
We are combining the best of both worlds at the renowned RWTH Aachen by creating one chair for renewable energies with special emphasis on wind power and a second dedicated to production technology for electromobility. Perhaps our cooperation with RWTH Aachen will culminate in a series-produced electric car powered exclusively by renewable wind power?
We are also promoting technology designed with the future in mind in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. At the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), we are supporting a chair in nanostructured functional materials. These structures measure less than a micrometer and are used, among other things, in photovoltaics and medical technology.
At the University of Stuttgart, the focus is on electromobility. At the Robert Bosch Center for Power Electronics, we are creating an institute for robust power semiconductor systems and packaging and interconnect technologies.
