Projects in India
We love IT!

Our sponsorship projects in India are geared first and foremost towards supporting the IT experts of the future. Under the auspices of the renowned Indian Institute of Science (IISc), we are setting up the new “Robert Bosch IISc Center for Research in Cyber Physical Systems” in Bangalore. Top-notch Indian institutes and the internationally recognized Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft are involved in this project in an advisory capacity.

The goal of our commitment in India is to create an ideal research and working environment for the IT specialists of the future. Over a period of ten years, we will be investing 22.8 million euros in IISc’s new research center, which is one of the country’s most prestigious educational institutes and is equipped with state-of-the-art IT technology. In future, we also intend to support India’s industrial and academic community, for example through contract research.

When things learn to think

Cyber physical systems form one of the focal points of our commitment in India. This is about linking the digital virtual world with physical reality. Although it may sound very theoretical at first, it produces practical benefits for people and the environment. For example, cyber physical systems help cut energy consumption in buildings. In the future, houses will know the current energy prices and the local weather conditions and will be able to optimize their energy consumption to meet the needs of the occupants. This technology can also be used in offices and on the roads. Last but not least, our commitment in India also focuses on research into IT solutions, mobility, and renewable energies.
